GCC : Booth Duty 2

People getting ready for booth duty. The only name I recall is BethM (in the middle).

Mike Rhines is on the right. I worked with Mike on the network-to-SCSI converter for the PLP (PLPShare?) just before I left GCC; he was a pure hardware engineer back then. Mike and I both remember this project (managed by Tim Peacock) as the best-run development project either of us ever worked on. Mike currently manages a development group at Zoran, developing printers for digital cameras.

A PLPShare story I just remembered: last-minute, the machine won't boot and Mike and Tim Peacock are tearing their hair out. Doug M. walks in, touches a chip on the board, and it boots! Turns out that there was a missing pull-up resistor. Doug always had a talent for breaking your software; he'd walk up to the machine, hit a bunch of keys with both hands, and your program would crash...

Mike Rhines' son and my daughter were on the same little league team last year. Talk about a small world...
